Hitman is a multi-million selling video games franchise, designed and created in Denmark by acclaimed developer, IO Interactive. The revered series is renowned for its anti-hero icon named Agent 47, its innovative stealth/action gameplay, cutting-edge visuals, compelling storyline and its unique, cinematic and immersive musical scores by Kyd.

Hitman expanded into the mass market console arena and pop culture consciousness with Hitman 2: Silent Assassin (2002), opening the experience to a wider audience of gamers and inspiring an unprecedented level of devotion amongst its many hardcore fans.

The Hitman 2: Silent Assassin score, celebrated in GameSpot’s A History of Video Game Music: The Hitmen of Budapest and highly acclaimed among the first generation of game scores recorded with live orchestra, was recorded with 110 musicians of the Budapest Symphony Orchestra and Choir. In 2004, the music of Hitman 2 was performed at the historic Gewandhaus concert hall in Leipzig, Germany, during the “GC” Games Convention Game Music Symphony concert, the first event series of its kind outside of Japan.

In 2005, IO Interactive partnered with film soundtrack label La-La Land Records to release a re-mastered version of the classic symphonic score to Hitman 2: Silent Assassin. Dark, ominous and epic, the Hitman 2 soundtrack is still regarded by many as some of the best music recorded for the genre.
