Jesper started creating music on the Commodore 128 in 1985. In 87 he composed music for a couple of C64 Zargon demos and in 88 he started doing Amiga music for TSP (The Starlight Project) which later became Kefrens. Jesper joined the Danish division of Swedish computer group Silents together with friend Mikael Balle in 1989. In 1990 they started the official Kyd/Balle partnership and produced and created several popular Amiga demos. Kyd/Balle Productions also performed a couple of concerts around Scandinavian demo parties. The concerts included music videos, which they created specifically for each track. The highlight of these performances was the concert for the biggest computer party at the time "THE PARTY 2" in Denmark, with more than two thousand visitors. The Party was the biggest demo scene event in the world from 1991 - 2002 and was a yearly event held in Denmark. In 1992 Kyd/Balle started game development company Zyrinx together with programming group Crionics. When Jesper left the demo scene he had done music for more than 50 Amiga demos for many different demo groups.
Jespers involvement in the Amiga scene was intense. A fierce competition ruled the scene. Whether it be programming tricks, graphic design or music, charts and disc magazines were everywhere. Demos were reviewed, talked about and out done. Denmark had one of the biggest demo scenes in the world, and this was truly outstanding since it's also one of the smallest countries in Europe. I went to many "copy parties" (demo parties) all over Europe during my years in the scene, where thousands of people would show up and compete by writing the best demos, music & gfx. Out of the Amiga scene has come many unique games such as Hitman and Max Paine.
History / FilesBelow you will see a timeline of years. Click through each year to hear music clips (mods) and view demo details. Also available are highlighted moments and extra links to personal favorite clips and further resources. To play back music mods use Winamp or Delitracker. Make sure to listen to mods in mono. To view Amiga demos use an Amiga Emulator called Fellow.
